How to record that lock was included with handgun?

    Hello everyone,

Can you please tell me the proper way to record that a lock was included with a handgun when filing away the 4473 and DROS? I'm familiar with the Safe Affidavit for the long guns but just confused with the handguns that come with locks.
While I'm on the topic, I may as well add. How do I properly record that I sold a CA approved cable lock with a handgun transfer? Is my receipt enough? Thanks in advance for your help.

I always write the lock information in the comments section of the DROS.
www.tenpercentfirearms.com was open from 2005 until 2018. I now own Westside Arms.

I write the info in the comments section like tenpercentfirearms does - record the make and model of the lock. Also photocopy the instructions that come with the lock and highlight where it says "California approved" and keep that copy with the dros

He have a customer agreement that goes with every dros. We fill in what lock make and model was given out on the dros and its also on our customer agreement. Hope that helps

As above, I enter lock info in the comments section. For approved locks that come with the gun (either new or PPT that still has the original lock) I annotate the comment with “O.E.M.” (Original Equipment Manufacture). Absent the O.E.M., the paperwork will include a photo copy of a dated sales receipt for an approved lock.
