Shiping handgun to another state??FFL to FFL??

If I ship a handgun to another state does it have to go through a FFL to an FFL?? If so does it have to go through a FFL01 ( I have a type 03, C&R )

There are no Federal or state laws that mandate a firearm must be shipped from a FFL, only that it is received by a FFL.

Therefore, it is up to the individual FFL on if they will accept a shipment from a non-FFL or from FFLs only.

Prior to shipping, the receiving FFL should be contacted and asked what their policy is for having a firearm shipped to them.

They will probably want a copy of your DL. Don't panic! Its simply to log the firearm in. I won't accept anything from a non licensed individual without the DL. Not a law but how else would I know where it came from?

So would this apply if say a Family member wanted to ship me my xd to me from back home? I am assuming you can't send it with any ammunition...does it have to be disassembled? and can it go through ups or fed ex or does it have to be like certified mail or something?

No ammunition. Does not need to be disassembled. FedEx or UPS only.
