My friend inherited 40+ guns just over a year ago. 7 pistols, rest long guns. Just this month he ended up with a 3 year restraining order placed against him. His guns are already in possession of the sheriffs department. They told him he could sell them to a dealer, they don't seem to want to store them for the 3 years.
He wants to sell most of them and was planning to before the restraining order.
Could he use an FFL to transfer all of them to me, and then I sell them individually for him through an FFL and keep the ones he wants to keep and then transfer them back after the 3 years? Would this be considered some type of illegal transfer? The whole idea is to get them out of the SO with out selling them all to a dealer.
Thank You in advance for all the assistance with this issue.
