    Might be a dummy

    *update*

Went on my first day off, of my first day back from vacation to get muh gun. I searched around for a place to "print out" my address change on the CDMV website. Surprise, it's not there. Only option is to change my address?! Which I already did, when I moved. So I swung by bringing with me a second car registration with my correct address on it. They denied the transfer. " If the address on the CDL doesn't match the proof of residency the gun doesn't go out the door." I asked them to please show me where the two addresses had to match. They couldn't, they told me that's what DOJ told them and that's how they are doing it. I asked them to show me please where I could print out the verification of my registered address. They said I had to login to change my address.......which I've already done! They said all I need is the little brown card?! Argh! They have my gun I am at thier mercy.

Am I missing something? Am I wrong? Ill eat my words in a heartbeat if I am.

    Guys fill me in!

    Thanks mark

And I'm sure it's covered but....
Went in for a person to person transfer of a pistol today. My DL doesn't mat h my residence. I brought my DMV registration, valid CDL, HSC. I was told that I need to get a print out from DMV with my current address matching my registration before I can pick up my pistol. I don't remember needing that a year or so ago when I got my Glock 27. Has something changed? I know it seems to change weekly? Insight or explanation gladly listened to and thank you for your time mark

If your DMV registration has your current residence address, that is enough. Nothing has changed, but some places make things up. Another government document is also acceptable as long as it meet the requirements (see the Master FAQ in the FFL forum for residency requirements).

It's lokey in Morgan Hill, they just opened up I understand. I'll comply with said made up requirement this time. Is there a tactful way to ask them to review their perceived req's?

2.5 hours at the hollister DMV plus 5$ got me a printout of my driving record complete with address change from a year ago. Drive over the LGS to pick up my pistol....... Only to fill out a DROS sheet again because they had me sign and date the original before jamming me up on the matching address issue 😫😤😠. Scribble here scribble there time for the safety doyouknowhowtounloadandcheckyourgun test. Sign the affidavit for the gun safe then it was good to go right? No, I did not buy a gunlock, nor did I bring one with a receipt dated within 30 days. I picked one off the rack for 7$ and was told, "you dont need one". I'm pretty sure I need one with a hand gun so I bought it anyways. Finally I got muh gun!

Yes, you did need a lock for the Feds, but it would be on them if you didn't get one.
