Shipping Lower to NV for warranty claim via USPS?

    Hey everyone -

I'm trying to make sense of the rules for shipping, and when I need to provide notice to the USPS and when I don't. I have a stripped AR lower that I need to send to Las Vegas for a warranty claim. My read is that this is mailable via USPS, and I can send it in a flat rate box. As a non-FFL do I need to submit a Form 1508?

Am I completely off base here? I can ask the manufacturer, but thought I would check in here as well.

    Thanks for your help.

Form 1508 is for FFLs and such, so you would never fill it out unless you are a FFL.

You would need to inform them that it is a firearm and the law says it is supposed to be in writing, but it is legal for you to ship it. They might have an issue since the box is small and so they might think that it is a handgun.
