i was just wondering what would the process be if i were to sell
my rifle to someone? is there anything special i need to do or bring or
is as easy as go to the shop and they take it from there?

You just need to bring it to a FFL. You need to have an CA ID/DL. Sometimes FFLs make things up and require more documentation, but that is all the seller needs to have for a long gun.

You can also ship it to a FFL, but then the fees are not limited. For a PPT, where both parties go to the same FFL, the fee is limited to a total of $35 ($25 DROS + $10 FFL). No sales tax unless the FFL finds the buyer/seller or gets involved with the price.
