I was wondering if any of you know of a FFL in Sonoma county that does intrafamily interstate transfer. Thank you

Intrafamily intrastate transfers don't require an FFL transfer. For it to be considered intrastate both parties have to be California residents. One party can't just be visiting. And it has to be a qualifying "family" relationship (parent, grandparent, child, grandchild).

Thanks for the reply. My situation is, my father in Tx. wants to give me a handgun that is not on the roster. Can I do this, and is there a FFL near me to help with the transfer?

        Read this thread.

Since your father is in TX, it will be an INTERstate intrafamilial transfer. The intrafamilal transfer exempts it from the roster but the interstate transfer requires the use of an FFL.

I know you want an easy answer but most likely you'll have to do your own homework regarding an FFL that will do this. When searching for an FFL for this transfer, make sure you ask very specific questions (eg do they know how/have experience doing it?, how much is the fee? do they require shipping from an FFL? etc)

Okay, that's interstate and not intrastate. Ignore my first post and follow NikePenguin's advice. More and more California FFLs are learning about the legality of these kinds of transfers, but you still might have to travel a bit to find one.
