    2 Transfers, 1 Purchase Order

    Hello,

I have a question. I've done transfers for out of state purchases before, but I have a new scenario that I'm not clear on. I have a customer where he and his buddy have purchased 2 AR lowers from an out of state vendor. The question is, can I transfer each to them individually on 2 DROS?, or do I have to transfer both to the person on the purchase order and then do a PPT for the other one?

    Thanks

You can do whatever you want. This is clearly not a straw purchase as if the guy on the PO was legit and the 2nd guy was prohibited, they wouldn't have the second guy do a DROS.

They are both DROSing. The only way this would be prohibited is if one of them admitted to buying the gun for a third party and they are trying to conceal the third party's identity.

Just be a smart gun dealer and let them both DROS. It is good customer service.

Just yesterday I had two brothers in. One wanted to do the paperwork and the other wanted to pay. I asked if it was a gift or what. Then I asked if the one brother was buying it for the other brother because they were prohibited. They answered they were not. Good enough for me. I actually think they were pooling their money to buy the gun. Totally legit if I ask the question and when they fill out the 4473 and they check yes to whoever is buying it is the transferee.

Thank you. That's what I was thinking, I don't feel there is anything sketchy going on here.

By the way I appreciate all the helpful advice you post
