    Garand transfer between private parties

I have bought 3 garands from Cmp and had them shipped to my house.

They all were special grade, meaning new stocks and barrels.

I have found a garand locally owned by a private party.

Do we need to do a PPT if the receiver is over 50 years old but the rest of the gun has been upgraded??

Even using the most conservative interpretation of California law you are perfectly fine doing a paperless cash and carry transfer with another 18+ year old California resident as long as the Garand is still in a military configuration and not bubba'd beyond recognition.

It looks exactly like a garand, except it has hooded sights and a nice stock!! A very nice stock!

CMP still have them? What are the prices looking like? I may need to pick one up if they do, and prices are good.

It's not a Cmp gun, it's a don McCoy match prepped garand.

I bought the blond one. It's unreal
