Can I purchase a pistol online from Canada?

I been looking for a buckmark pistol for a long time and I finally found the model that I want online from a Canadian website. Is this purchase possible?

Yes, as long as you comply with Federal and CA state laws.

In order to legally import a firearm into the USA, you will need BATFE approval or else it will be confiscated by US Customs.

In order for the handgun to be legally imported into CA and transferred to you, the handgun must be on the Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale or be exempt from it.

Therefore...
1. You need to make sure that handgun is on the Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale or exempt from it.
2. You buy it.
3. 60 days prior to it being imported into the USA, you apply to the BATFE to get approval for importation.
4. If approved, you pay to have it shipped to a CA FFL dealer.
5. After it arrives at the CA FFL dealer, you pay transfer fees & CA use tax and then have it transferred to you (4473/DROS/10 day wait).

Just be aware that when all is said and done, you may be paying 2-3 times more than what it is being sold for due to all the fees involved.
