I was just wondering if the same system is used by the FFL or the DOJ when you purchase a handgun and a raifle. Now I know you can only purchase 1 hand gun every 30 days and you have to take a test for your hand gun permit but do they take one step further into handgun background checks than rifles or is it the same as a rifle sale?
Also does the DOJ keep your sals record on file to see what you've purchased in the past when it comes to hand guns? The reason I ask is because I was at Turners and some guy received a letter from the city explaining to him that straw purchases were illegal, then he said that he called the number on the letter and he found out that they were keeping a database of all handgun purchases that he made. Then he started to say that's its illegal for them to do that, that they have to disregard the sale after 45 days.
