Selling a long gun that does not have serial number

I'm hoping this is a simple question someone can help with..

I've got a Mossberg 195KA 12ga that I'm considering selling. It was manufactured between 1955-1958. It does not have any serial number or unique identifier on it.. I guess there were no serial numbers on Mossberg long guns made prior to 1968..

Would I have to follow standard (target state) DROS or PPT regs to sell this?

    Tnx.

yes it's a good idea as you do not want to do a FTF sale and find out you sold a gun to some one that is a FELON

Also I do not know about the Mossberg you speek of but somtimes you need to remove grips/forends /stocks to get to the SN

I've got an old Mossberg 12ga that is like that with no serial numbers. They didn't have to before 1968.

If you can confirm via the model that it made more than 50-years ago, you can just sell it to another CA resident, no need to do a PPT DROS at a dealer.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Thanks for the info. It's at least 55 years old so I'll prob try to sell it here in CA.

As said, long gun over 50 years old can be sold FTF without going through a dealer, no DROS required. You could still do it if you wanted to.
