Trading in an off roster handgun

Hello, first post so be gentle. I am considering taking a trade in handgun that was sold as an sse to my customer from a shop in Sac. What do I need to do to take it in? I am an 07ffl that manufacturers custom rifles so I don't have much experience with handgun sales or paperwork.

I would think that if you took it in trade,it would be considered a shop gun so it would have to be sold to an exempt buyer,or I guess if you SSE'ed it,you could sell it that way.

What make and model? If you take it in for regular sale, you have to go by the Roster. If it's a PPT, the roster doesn't apply.

You can do a consignment and sell it, otherwise the firearm or the buyer has to be exempt, as has been mentioned. In either case, you need to be a secondhand dealer.

So, if I want to keep it as a shop gun to use as a model for prototype parts that I make what would I need to do? It is an M&P pro 5" 9mm

Assuming that you have the secondhand dealer permit and all that, you can just buy it as inventory. If you think that you might want to sell it later, you could do a PPT to yourself, then you could sell it later.
