Importing Yugo SKS into CA?

As an 01FFL how do I import a Yugo SKS into CA? Does the seller have to register with CADOJ? Any other hoops to jump through besides just adding it to my books?

It depends on a couple of things...

Is the person shipping to you an FFL? If so, what Type of FFL?

Is the rifle a Yugo M59 or is it a Yugo M59/66? If it's the M59/66 has the grenade launcher been removed or modified yet?

It's a 59, And I'm not sure yet if the seller is an FFL holder YET.

I emailed with Wes at Ten Percent Firearms. He says it's ok just to get the guys DL. I think that's what I'm going to do. Unless someone disagrees with me here(?).

You need to ensure that the firearm is not a so-called a-salt weapon unless you have an AW permit.

If it is coming from a private party, it is a good idea to get a copy of their ID before giving your information, but it is not required.

If it is coming from a FFL, then they need to do the CFLC letter.
