    Non FFL in California question.

    Hello everyone,

Today I sold an old Remington Wingmaster on GunBroker. Buyer is in Iowa. I understand that the gun has to be shipped only to local FFL. What about me? Can I, a non FFL, send it directly to the FFL in Iowa, or do I need to find a CA FFL to do that for me? Thanks,

Legally, you can ship it yourself. But some FFLs have a policy of only accepting firearm shipments from other FFLs.

Interesting! Before posting this thread, I called The Oak Tree Gun Club and Martin Retting gun store and they told me that only FFL can ship gun to the other FFL. Are they manipulating the truth and trying to get paid for doing the service?
      Thanks

Anyone can legally ship a gun to an FFL but some FFL's have their own policies about receiving firearms from individuals. But only FFL's can use USPS to ship a handgun. Anyone can use USPS to ship a long gun. Anyone can use common carriers like FedEx or USPS to ship firearms. These common carriers may have their own policies about shipping overnight or 2nd day but there is no law requiring certain ship times. USPS will do ground shipping on firearms.
