    Pistol transfer ?

Bear with me I'll try too get all the info that was past on to me. Contractor bids a job for a home owner. During the coarse of the job a few add on's by the owner were done as requested. When the job was finished the contractor goes
    to collect the bill.

Home owner states he doesn't have the funds, but will he accept a pistol as partial payment. Contractor says yes, thinking they would transfer thru an FFL.

Here's where it gets sticky, home owner says hes not the registered owner, it belonged to his his girl friend. They split the sheets and shes long gone.

Contractor now has the pistol, knows I'm into guns and wants advice as to this getting into his name.

Any help on this one ??

The "seller" doesn't have to be the "registered owner" if there is one. So, the home owner either needs to show up at a local FFL and do a PPT or take the gun back and come up with the cash. It's really that simple.
