I bought a piece couple weeks ago and i was worried because you give money upfront. I called the shop and they were willing to call local pD to research database if you're that worried. Some FFL's will do it and some wont. But no, I haven't found or heard anyone getting scammed. Good luck with your 10 day wait.\

As far as I know there is no searchable database that your gun store would have access to. If there is please let me know.

That would be a nice service. I am pretty sure it is against the policy for OCSD.

I call the local SD occassionally to have them run a check on a gun I may be taking as a trade or purchase. The locals have no problem doing that for me or any other FFL in the area.
