Intrafamilial Transfer

Hello-

I know this has been asked before but searching got me mixed messages.

As I understand it, CALIF does not recognize brother under the guidelines of intrafamilial firearm transfers. I'd like to purchase a long gun from my brother (specifically an AR-15 lower reciever). I'm nearly certain I'm required to do so via an FFL and PPT.

Anyone have any experience?

Is your dad, mom, grandfather, or grandma alive?

Just say yes or no, this has been worked to death recently.

You must do PPT.

Now if you were to receive or buy a lower from your mother, father, grandfather, grandmother, that is totally legal with no paperwork required. Additionally, your mother, father, grandfather, grandmother can also receive firearms from their children or grandchildren with no paperwork required.
