If you're talking about Freedom Arms then you can ship your handgun directly to them and they can ship it directly back to you. The only two shipping options are UPS and FedEx. Both of them require that you ship handguns via one of their overnight service levels, so it is very expensive. Like $60 to $90 depending on the weight of the handgun and how far you are shipping it.

The easiest way is for the manufacturer (Freedom Arms) to issue a prepaid shipping label for you to use. But not all manufacturers do this, especially if it's not for a warranty repair.

Both California and federal law allow for you to ship a handgun back to the manufactuter (or to any FFL in the business of repairing firearms) and for them to ship the same handgun back to you.

A call to Freedom should make this crystal clear.

Sorry, I didn't look at the dates or much else.

That shipping label is golden. You will probably notice it doesn't say the exact name of the company to which are shipping, if their name is somewhat firearm related, because the "gun" thing is prohibited.
