This post is so confusing. Are you a gun dealer? If you have your 01/07 FFL with COE then you are 10 day wait exempt and most likely DROS exempt as well. If not, then you need to buy it through a dealer and wait your ten days.

Why would this be any different than a normal long gun transaction?

With very few exceptions, all firearms transfers have to go through a dealer, including private sales, which means a waiting period (unless you are exempt).
