No Serial Number on Shotgun

I just received an OLD shotgun.. Looks like early 1900s. Forehand Arms was the manufacturer. How do I log this into my A&D book? Doesn't seem to have a serial number on it as far as I can tell unless it's under the rust, but I've been looking real hard.

The person receiving it is transferring from his dad in Maine to himself in CA.

I've had older longguns without serial numbers. I entered them as "NSN" per ATF field office directions.
