So i had someone offer me a my pistol for his rifle.He states that he is a Missouri resident here on mil orders,claims that he has a buddy who is a ffl and that his buddy would come pick up my handgun and give me the rifle no paperwork involved due to the fact he's a Missouri resident.i go on to say that would be illegal,if i interpret laws right,there must be a ffl transaction ten day wait etc..,he goes on to say that this ffl told him that what he is describing is legal due to long guns not being registered in California.seems kind of fishy to me whats your take? no i did not take this deal not worth risking my rights and time.

Not legal how he says it, but if he's here on permanent military orders this would be a standard PPT.Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

It would not be legal. The FFL can pick up your handgun, but he can not just hand you the rifle since as a FFL he has to follow the state laws, which means the DROS and 10 day wait.
While long guns are not registered, which means that it is unlikely to get caught, it does not mean that it is legal.Kemasa.
