"Law Enforcement Only" required labeling

What are the specific requirements for labeling/tagging off roster handguns as "Law Enforcement Only" for firearms displayed in the shop? Please give me a link to the specific wording in the regs, if any. Thanks.

I am unaware of "requirements" but I usually label them "LEO ONLY" to let customers know. Sorry I couldn't answer your question but I did give your thread a bump.

I would have figured the only rules are that you can't transfer it. Having displayed doesn't mean you'll sell it to the wrong person.

Non-Rostered and nonexempted handguns really shouldn't be advertised/ displayed for regular sale (exception: consignment) due to prohibitions on 'offers or exposes for sale' in 12125. A non-Rostered gun in the display case in which a clerk eventially tells a shopper, "hey I can only sell that gun to LEOs" would likely ulimately pass muster, but it's best to play it safe.
