    Some Very Basic Question

    Hello all,
I would like some feedback from small to medium gun dealers in California. We have received all of our licences/permits, etc. (just waiting to be added to the DOJ's centralized list) and we intend to open our doors in late August or September. Right now, I'm am researching what kind of POS system would be best for our type of shop and also preparing to hire some additional staff. We are currently internet only but can not integrate the instore sales and inventory with our current merchant processing and inventory system.

My questions are what Point of Sale systems are you using (Quick Books POS, etc.), did you buy a complete system with computer, software, card reader etc. or did you purchase separate components? (we intend to have a separate dedicated computer/printer for the DOJ DROS entering) and second, I'm trying to get a handle on appropriate wage ballpark for a counter guy that will be required to pass DOJ background checks etc.

I appreciate any feedback/advise you guys may have. Thanks in advance.

Quick books and a Sharp cash register that is set up for quickbooks. You can program the register for each employee and download your sales into quickbooks at the end the business day to keep tabs on your inventory.
