    DROS question

I opened/started a DROS 26 days ago that I used to purchase a rifle. I'm going to be getting another rifle in about 10 days.

Can I start another DROS for the new rifle now so I don't have to wait 10 more days after it comes in, or do I have to wait until the present one expires?

From my understanding u can only pick up 1 gun every 30 days. So I turn if u started the dros 26 days ago then u only picked up your gun 16 days ago. Meaning u will have to wait another 5 days until u can start another dros to get your new gun after the 30 days.

Only handguns are subject to 1 in 30 day restriction. There is no such limitation for long guns.

I feel I have failed as a dealer and a friend that Frank doesn't know this answer. Then again, he must not have ever asked.

At the present time, you can start as many long gun DROS as you want whenever you want. The more the merrier by gun shop and DOJ desires.

So take home your guns with the 26 day old one, start another one today. Tomorrow start another. The next day start another. Later that day start another. Go to a different gun shop and start one there. Start one at 2nd Amendnment, then travel across down and start one with Gene at Bear Mountain 20 minutes later.

Really all of your DROS should be starting in Taft, but since that is a drive for you, I actually do understand! I need a Bakersfield store!

You know how when you buy beer there is a sign in the liquor store saying "YOU HAVE TO BE BORN ON THIS DATE BEFORE 1991 TO PURCHASE ALCOHOL."

Why not have a sign in a gun store saying "CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR FINE PURCHASE. TO BUY YOUR NEXT HANDGUN, COME BACK ON AUGUST 1, 2012, FOR YOUR NEXT LONG GUN, COME BACK ANYTIME."

And then change the return date daily! Why not? We already get told the earliest and latest day for pick up, why not add another sales incentive?

Heck give me a 5% off coupon if I buy on day 31!!! :-)

I used to have a 10 days from now clock. I should bring it back. I might go check Amazon right now. A 30 day clock? Not that many people buy that many handguns. Math isn't that hard.

Thanks Wes. I ordered a rifle and the flake of a distributor in Las Vegas told me four weeks ago that it had shipped and would be here "next week" so I started the DROS to do a PPT on another rifle.

The flake in LV is telling me for sure "next week". It's a lot harder to get left handed Mausers out of Serbia than he thought I think.

                Another DROS question:

Let's say that I buy a rifle and start the DROS at Dealer A's place. I pick up the rifle 10 days later and 10 days later I find a rifle at Dealer B's shop that I can't live without, can Dealer B access the DROS already in process and let me take the second gun home right away?

To Answer this Question the answer is no each dealer must do a seperate DROS.

You can do more then one long gun at the same time but only one hand gun per DROS.

Dealers are independent and nothing they do can be shared with other dealers.
