FFL DROS Long Gun Serial #

Only handguns are processed through DROS with make, model, and serial #.

Longguns has no box to input serial #.

Then if a longgun is found out in the field how would cops run the ser# and trace it back to the owner?

Basically where do I input longgun ser#?

    Thank you for your inputs.

The ATF form 4473 will have all that information on it when the gun is released to the customer.

The firearm can be traced from the manufacturer to the distributor to the end FFL selling it for the first time. After that, it might not be able to be traced unless it is really important. A PPT would still have the 4473 to transfer it and then the information would be on that, as well as the bound book, but would be harder to track down.
