Question for existing FFL's

I was considering sending in my FFL 01 application and $200 check to run an FFL-01 from my house on the San Francisco peninsula.
I used to have an 03 -CnR license so familiar with being audited at any time. However, quite outside of the paperwork side of things, audits DROSs record etc etc. I have parking for ny potential customers and my area is zoned for business / residential. I was wondering if there is any physical security issue I have not thought of that the ATF my question? I have a large basement room, with physical lock and combination door and a decent sized safe inside it also.

Not an 01...but don't you also need a security and camera system?

I'd be more concerned about Ca DOJ, than I would ATF.

So i have researched and wanted to clarify - its CA laws that says security systems, annoying but i get it. SO - does the ATF give a yay / nay and then if they say ya you have an FFL BUT you need the state to grant the business licence before you can operate OR if is a joint effort and ATF says yay but until the state / county concurs and approves then you wont have an FFL?

The physical location has to be zoned for commercial retail and the city also has to approve the location for that type of business. Most home based ffl in california had their ffl before 1994 when the federal crime bill allowed local cities to dictate where they would allow a firearm business. if you are in san francisco its highly unlikely they would allow it. if they did you need to comply with californias video recording system which means one year of video 24-7 on any and all entrances to your home, the area where a customer is allowed to enter, the storage area where the guns are stored. this system runs 24-7 sound and video and must be kept for one year. the zoing and local business licence is the hardest issue for most ffls in a home based environment.
