FFL Security Camera setup in detached garage

Hi, home based FFL here. I'm planning to move my transfer space from my house to my detached garage, since having a 24/7 security camera system will be much less intrusive there. I'm wondering if I can use a standalone security camera and NVR (Network Video Recorder) system all out there, or if I need to also have the recording data transmitted into my house, via ethernet or wifi. I hope that isn't too confusing!
