Local Firearms License for FFL's to get on centralized list

Ok, just when I think I have it all figured out, nope another hurdle. So, I have my FFL01, city permit, State Sellers permit and a COE. The DOJ said I must get the FET first and the State Tax people said I need the CFD first. This went on for a week. Finally, the DOJ emailed me and said there is a way to bypass CFD on the State tax site. 8 people later I got the right person who was able to help me get the FET without the CFD. So lastly, I hope. There is the local firearms license, this is what they sent to me:
    • Local Firearms License – be sure it complies to CA Penal Code 26705

I live in Rancho Cucamonga and the San Bernardino County Sheriff is our local police. I called and talked to 2 different people in the Rancho substation about a local license. I talked to 3 different people at the main Sheriff office in San Bernardino and they also were not aware of any. So, I emailed the State DOJ and was sent this example below. Does anyone have any information on this license and how to acquire it? I did email the Sheriffs office, but that was late Friday, I don't expect a response till Monday. If anyone has any information I would appreciate it. I did type in and search San Bernardino Sheriff local firearms seller license in several different ways and all came back with nothing on the subject. If you search it and find something, I will eat crow right here, but please forward what you find.

    Thank you,

    Jay Strine

Just an update. I sent copy over to San Bernardino County Sheriff PIO department on late Friday (28 Feb) and I got a reply on Monday. They initially asked my to contact CCW department and I had already done that prior to this point. Before I could reach out and explain I was called by Deputy Young who was very helpful. She let me know what she needed and were able to set everything up. It all worked out.

So I am going through something similar, however live in Riverside County. So did you obtain your LFL from the CCW department on the Sheriffs department? Thanks in advance.

I got the LFL through the San Bernardino Sheriff's local office, not the CCW dept. I emailed the Sheriff's PIO department and initially got the email back about the CCW section of their department. I had already called them prior and had an idea that would not work. Before I could reply to the email, I then got a call from a deputy in the main office. She stated that she was the point of contact and sent me all the forms to fill out. She was very helpful and friendly. I do not know what section she is part of; I just looked at the license and it lists her as the issuing officer, no title or section listed. I had to get a live scan that day at same location as well for this license. So, I had to pay for live scan and the license, I do not have to get a live scan for renewal. My advice would be to email their PIO (Public Information Office) explain you are following CA DOJ's Penal Code section 26705. You are welcome to use the license above to send them as an example. Oh, I did forget; originally, I emailed the DOJ address on the page for applying for CFD. They sent me that license with the personal information inked out. They may have information on who to contact or send you Riverside County version to forward to Sheriffs. I will add the contact link below, once you send the email request they do get back to you withing a few hours. I wish you luck, please update as I am curious.
