    Interstate transfer OUT of California.

I am. New member to the forums. Long time lurker. Hello everybody and thank you, in advance, for your answers.
I have an Arizona residence, hence legal in Az. I want to purchase a gun from a Ca resident. What is required from the Ca resident to transfer the gun to me? I know, since it is interstate, it will have to go through an FFL holder in Az where I am taking delivery of the gun. Does delivery to this Az dealer have to be from a Ca FFL? Or can the current owner deliver the gun to the Az dealer personally? Going a step further out, can I deliver the gun to the Az dealer with a copy of the seller's ID and a bill of sale? Not likely but I have to ask to try to save the seller a road trip.
The gun is not on the PRCa's (People's Republic of California) list but is OK in Az. That shouldn't make any difference since it is leaving Ca.
Any actual citations for this transaction would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks for your help.

    I'm not an FFL...

As I understand it, its up to the receiving AZ FFL to determine whether or not they are willing to receive it directly from the seller (shipping or personal delivery) or require it come from a CA FFL.

How your FFL receives the gun is up to him. It is legal for the seller to hand carry the gun to him, or personally ship it. Some FFLs require shipping from another FFL, but state and federal laws do not require that.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

        Yep, that's correct.

The seller in California can ship it directly to an Arizona FFL or take it there himself if the Arizona FFL doesn't have a problem with it. The only exception is if the firearm is a "registered assault weapon" in California. Then it needs to be shipped from a California assault weapon dealer, or delivered in person to the Arizona FFL by the seller.

The buyer cannot take the gun from California to Arizona himself.
