I've talked to PAI and they aren't compatible with godaddy. Authorize.net as mentioned isn't gun friendly. Did I miss any others mentioned? Seems most of the discussion was which shopping cart so people can use PAI.

opencart and zencart have been suggested so look into those. I'm doing so as well.

Ended up switching to volusion and PAI. Thanks for all the info everyone. What a pita it is moving all that inventory over ugh. I will say godaddy was very accommodating and refunded my money for the time not used.

At Gun Safari we were using OpenCart, it is good if you'd like to remain small. I wouldn't recommend it, go with a paid service worth every dollar in the end.

We're going through this same scenario now as well. Glad I found this thread. I was going to start a new one.

We've been using Merchant Warehouse but they don't allow any online firearm sales even though the firearms are transferred through a FFL. Are there any others that aren't mentioned above that are recommended?

I tried and tried. Finally went with the recommended volusion and PAI. Happy now that I did. That's all I can say.

I still run a store (not gun related) on Volusion and when it works it works good but it goes down way too much for my tastes. When I find a suitable replacement I will be switching.

You can get a virtual web hosting account for about $10 per month and Zen Cart for free. Zen Cart is used on thousands of sites and you can move it to another host within minutes if you need to. It's also very easy to find templates or website designers who specialize in setting up zen cart if you need to customize it.

So anyone with a Volusion store is down right now. Support phones are busy and there are 480 people in front of me for support chat.

                      They are a JOKE.

We are using Volusion and my store wasn't down at all today?

I guess its the level of service you are using.

It was very short. I wouldn't have noticed if someone here hasn't mentioned it.

Possible but I checked a handful of other users (Primary Arms, JoeBob Outfitters, BCM, SKD) and they were all down too. So it was pretty widespread and was for at least an hour for us.

After our last event, I will be looking for a replacement. It seems we average about 2 outages a month. My store has some time sensitive items (race registration with cutoffs) so I can't afford this ****ty level of service and I am tired of giving them chances.
