I would like to set up a gun trust for non-NFA items, is a FFL required to transfer ownership of the guns into the trust? assuming the answer is yes, are there any bay area FFL who can handle this type of transfer? TIA

I too want to set up a gun trust.
Not so that my kids will get them but so there is time and instructions on how to convert the collectables into cash without going to the local LGS for their kind attention.
In August, I am going to be talking to an attorney, supposedly with experience with setting these trusts.
I'll update this if/when I get a reliable answer. -
I've talked to 2 attorneys about setting up a gun trust, that's fairly easy, but the first stated I will need to find someone to transfer the arms into the trust and the 2nd stated he could find someone. I called 2 bay area FFLs that I've used before and both said this type of transfer was not something they handleComment

However, when I added firearms to my own personal trust my lawyer guy said I can just list them as one of the exhibits with instructions. He made no mention that I had to DROS them into the trust. Perhaps he is/was wrong, don't know.. Guess I won't know until I die..UG Imports - Fremont, CA FFL - Transfers, New Gun Sales

That is exactly what I don't want.
I want the Socialist State to be involved as little as possible in my estate.
My plan is to have my other assets spread among family and some institutions that I favor.
My gun collection will be sold IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA as much as possible.
The proceeds can then be given to some of the California 2nd Amendment organizations, other butterfly collectors or save the *whatever* organization of my choice.Comment
