    Going out of business

Sadly, after 52 years I've had about all I can take of Newsome and his legislative corral of buffoons. We're moving out of state!!
That said, I need info on what to do with the following:
    1. Remaining, valid, FSC test results.
    2. Amassed 4473"s .
    3. FSC tests.
    4. Ammo background checks.

Anyone have any insights as what to do with these....?

Call your CAL DOJ rep for the Calif specific stuff, and the BATFE for the 4473's.
      Poke'm with a stick!

The 4473s you are supposed to surrender back to the ATF. Make sure only Federal stuff is with them. The other stuff you are supposed to keep for five years. However, I have no idea what you are supposed to do if you are no longer in business. The main problem with not keeping it is they might revoke your CFD. The main problem with them revoking your CFD is you no longer have a CFD. So call them or e-mail them and ask if they want to pick them up, otherwise you should properly dispose of them. Please let us know what they say. And I hope you move to Free American and help keep some other state red. Eff em.

We closed one location about 2 years ago, that store had an FFL for about 18 months and did like 50 transfers. When we called DOJ to surrender our CFD number we just brought the records to the West Covina location. ATF picked up the 4473s and closed our FFL with a final check that our A&D book was closed out.

PS....Havent been on CG in forever because it wouldnt let us log in, now the issues seem to be fixed with this new format.

Get your SOT if you do not already have it and demo suppressors. It is the main reason I still have my shop.

                .
Your bund book and the last twenty years of 4473's have to go to ATF. They'll ask for all of them, but twenty years is the law.

Ammo DROS, five years, and firearm DROS is three years. I helped one FFL close out and when I asked my DOJ rep, they said he had to keep them for the allotted period, but the only penalty is revocation of your CFD. If you give up your CFD, you won't be audited, so how would they know what happened to your DROS files? I asked my rep this, and she simply reiterated that they are supposed to be retained according to their guidelines.

They never even look at FSC records, other than to see that you have them, so you are probably safe to chuck them.

The ATF is the one you really need to concern yourself with. Especially if you think you might get another FFL. Non-compliance could be grounds for disapproval of a future application.

Technically FSC is five years too, but I agree, oh darn come revoke my CFD that I just let expire.
