getting yugo sks from utah

looking to get my brothers yugo sks, he lives in utah i live in california.

can he legaly bring it to ca to do a ppt? (he visits often)
or do we have ffl?
he is gonna give this to me as a gift if that means anything.
the gun is in its oringnal cofig with no mods

First of all, is it a Yugo M59 or a Yugo M59/66? An original condition, unmodified M59/66 is illegal to possess in California because it has a grenade launcher on the end of the muzzle. Before coming into California with an M59/66 you have to remove the grenade launcher muzzle device. An M59 is fine without any modification.

Secondly, since you and your brother are residents of two different States, Federal law requires that the transfer go through an FFL. California dealers will charge you anywhere from $40 to $200 for such a transfer, so shop around for the best deal. He can bring the rifle in person to your local FFL or he can ship it there. Some FFLs only accept shipments from other FFLs, so ask beforehand if your local FFL will accept a shipment directly from your brother.

thanks for the response. the yugo sks is the 59/66 and i knew about the grenade launcher needed to be removed before the transfer to california and thanks for making sure i knew. before i became a member of calguns i did google searches on my questions for yugo sks in california and got all sorts of thing about sks, that its a AW, remove grenade launcher, remove bayinate(sp) and so on and so on. its nice to know its as simple as i was hoping for, thanks again

FYI.
Bayonets are 100% CA legal.
You do not need to remove it from a Zastava Model 59/66 (Yugo SKS).
