AFT FORM 3310.4 Mult. Handgun Sale - who in CA does Copy 2 go to?

    Howdy:

Yet another "gotcha" from all this paperwork.

We have a customer coming to pick up 2 handguns which are both from Person-to-Person transfers, and both DROSed on the same day. PTP transfers, thus excluded from the 1 per month rules....

I happened to see something on the forum the other day about this form, and looked it up.

What I'm not finding though is who is the appropriate recipient for copy 2. Seems DOJ already knows about it from the DROS...

    Little help from you gurus?

    Thanks,

    CM

I send them to the local PD

    b. Copy 2 - The official designated by the State or local authorities to receive this form, or in the absence of such designation, to the department of State police or State law enforcement agency in the jurisdiction where the handgun transfer occurred.

"AFT" - my typing sucks today....

OK, thanks - so I guess what you're saying is that when you've had to fill this out you just sent a copy to the local police department, correct? Seems easy enough....

My local PD wasn't interested in them so I sent them to the DOJ. FWIW

              Gents:

Thanks. Only sub-question left is: to the buyer's local PD or our local PD? Adjoining towns.....

For the Record: I find it hard to believe that buying more than 1 gun in 5 days is worth looking at by our tax dollars. I mean, maybe if someone bought more than 5 or 10 or 15 but two? Ridiculous....

Goes to the same law enforcement agency that authorized your CFD, just send it ATTN Records.

It would be your local police. I put it in an envelope and drop it off. I don't know or care what happens to it as I am just doing what is required. You can mail it, which can make it easier. But if you attempt to drop it off and they don't want it, tell them that you are following the law and that they can do whatever they want with it, including trashing it, but that you have to give it to them.

                      Thanks everyone.

I was thinking it needed to go to the buyer' local law enforcement - so I addressed the envelope to them but have not sent it yet.

I guess I'll scrap that one and send to the local PD that blessed my FFL.

Yes, as said above what a PITA to jump thru another flaming hoop, but I suppose after you get over the original hassle of learning what needs to be done it'll get to be more automatic.
