Can I do a FTF rifle trade without using FFL.

No cash is involved and both weapons are CA legal.

I'm not FFL, but are you talking about C&R rifles?

      Simple answer, NO.

If the both rifles are 50 years old or older and in their original configuration and neither of you are prohibited, then yes.

Almost all non-C&R transfers need to go through an FFL. A rifle trade isn't one of the few that doesn't.

That means it's time for you guys to go do a couple of PPTs at a gunstore.

C&R rifles, other than those over 50 years old, have to go through a FFL. It is the age that matters in this case as Halifax said.
