M1 Garand Tanker C&R???

I have an M1 Garand Tanker (shortened barrel). It was assembled by Fed Ord in So El Monte in the late 70's. The reciever is a 1937 Sprinfield (serial# 10,XXX). Does this still qualify as a C&R gun? It has all the original parts in original locations it's just about 6 inches shorted. If not now will it become a C&R when it reaches 50 years past the Fed Ord modifications.
The reason I'm asking is I have it listed for sale and don't want to run afoul of the C&R cash and carry rules.

Simpliest solution to that is just not to "cash and carry".

BTW, to be C&R eligible, it has to be in original configuration.

3rd that, original configuration. And it only applies to American (military) made M1's. Italian M1's are not on the BATF list.

I'm pretty sure Italian produced M1 rifles are C&R based on their age. That's assuming that production ended in or before 1959 when they made the switch to the BM59.

Well, since about 150 Garands were converted to this configuration during WWII, one could argue that this is an "original configuration". But I would play it safe and go through a FFL.
