    Rifle shipping

I'm sure this has been answered before but please bear with me.

If I am selling a rifle to someone upstate, how do I ship it?

Can I go through UPS or do I have to ship through a dealer?

Will the dealer box it up if I go through them?

    Thank you,

If the receiving dealer will accept shipping from a private individual (they don't have to) then all you have to do is ship it UPS or Fedex from a shipping hub. They don't take them at the storefronts. I like to get a copy of the receiving dealers FFLs license just to be sure that it's going to a legal address.

In some cases no FFL is required for a transfer of firearms, so shipping may be done between two unlicensed individuals

Unless this is a long gun 50 years old or more, not in this case.

yeah, someone should update the wiki. its not clear on C&R nor is it clear on state level requirements. which im pretty sure all transactions in california must be through an FFL if not interfamiliar.
