    out of state transfer

Can I have a receiver shipped to my FFL directly from a private individual from out of state, or does it have to go FFL to FFL?

    Thanks

Up to your FFL but there is no law against it.

OK, thanks. Would the private party shipping the receiver need to get the letter from CDOJ to verify my FFL?

Nope, CFLC is dealer to dealer.

That would be the "letter from CDOJ to verify my FFL" that you mentioned.

Yep, CFLC is the required letter obtained from CA DOJ for dealer to dealer. Private party to dealer, it is not required.

Dealer / FFL will usually require a copy of the Drivers License from a private party.

Private Party can verify a FFL is current with BATF @ https://www.atfonline.gov/fflezcheck/

I'm a little out of your way, but I'd be happy to do it.

$50 for the transfer fee, btw.
