    Mark Up Q on Accessories

I'm thinking about adding a firearms accessories business under my umbrella of businesses.

Can anyone give me an idea of what type of markup/margin there is on items like Scopes, Lights, Lasers.

I've tried contacting AcuSports, Bangers and Midway but they won't release anything unless I'm approved as a retailer. I'm not ready for that step yet because I'm just doing my due diligence to see if this is something I should invest in.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Wide range - sometimes 10, sometimes 40 percent depending on the item. I make more money on a Glock mat than I do on a Glock sometimes.

Thanks for the response. I'm not looking to sell firearms - only optical related accessories. As I understand it, many distributors will only sell to FFL's even if you don't intend to sell guns.

Not true...some distributors may require you to have a storefront, but there are ways around that. you can get an account with RSR Group with only a Seller's Permit. All you really need is a Seller's Permit and Business License if your location requires one. I will say this, if you want to sell optics online, don't expect to sell much within California if you want to compete with any of the other online vendors. there are some vendors selling EOTechs for $50 over cost. if you factor in Paypal fees or Credit Card Fees and trying to discount the item to cover CA Sales Tax, you will not make anything. If you sell Optics, it is better you market them through out of state forums. Having a storefront is easier to sell at retail prices.
