    Gun lock pricing

Not sure if this is the right place but I plan on getting a gun online and transferred to a place down in San Diego. From my understanding I'm either going to have to buy a gun lock from the ffl dealer or purchase one within the last 30 days and bring the lock and/or receipt. Is it usually about the same price or do ffl dealers usually jack the price up? Any cheap gun locks that you guys can recommend for a wingmaster?

If it a longgun, and you have an approved safe, you can fill out an affidavit.

      ag.ca.gov/firearms/forms/pdf/gsaff.pdf

Some jerkwad FFL's won't accept this. Let the forum know if that is the case.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

You won't know until you ask the dealer. I just give locks away.

Do you supply them with a receipt so that when CADOJ checks the DROS Receipt in the comment section can verify a lock was bought or brought in to satisfy the CADOJ?

Nope. I simply write it in on the DROS and put "OEM" after the make and model for locks that came with the gun or "provided" for locks I gave the customer. I do not provide any sales receipt that shows lock information unless I actually sell them a lock, which I don't do anymore.

Customers do not bring in locks to my store because I give everyone a lock. If a customer wants to bring in a lock, that is fine. I won't use it for that transaction and will throw it in the back for use later. All customers get a lock from me unless it is multiple long guns and then I will actually use the safe affidavit.

                          If you go to:

Then select "Project Childsafe", you will find that there are 6 different models that are certified.

Not sure....asked if I had a lock with me, I said yes. I went and got it, still in the package with the "docs" from when I picked it up. As soon as I showed it he said "I was hoping it was not one of those...they are not CA approved. I can't belive the hosipitals give them out"

Then of course he told me I could buy one from them for only $10
