Interesting question. If a FFL wants to sell a personal handgun, via PPT, (buyer needs the 30 day exemption, for instance) would the FFL need to collect sales tax ?
Well, that is interesting. If the FFL were to find the buyer, then sales tax would be required to be collected. If the FFL just went to another FFL to do the transfer, then no. If the FFL does not use the business to find the buyer, then no sales tax should be required. This assumes that the firearm has been in the FFL's private collection for over a year and/or the FFL filled out a 4473.
