To cut or not to cut? (Sig Sauers, not circumcision)

This may seem kind of silly, but I'm wondering how many dealers out there leave the Sig Sauer "beer bracelets" on the grip and how many cut them off when displaying the guns?

Have you ever received customer feedback regarding this?

    Just curious.

Why would you remove it? What does it serve you? With it on, it indicates that it is a new firearm (or certified) and while it could be shot with it on, there might be a sign that was done. I think that people like to see it when buying a new firearm.

Leave it alone...as kemasa said, the customer likes to see it on there...guess they see it like the "tamper-proof" packaging...if it's not on there, they'll ask for one that does have it.

Good feedback. It just seems to me that as it gets crinkled and dirty it starts to imply the gun has been for sale for awhile.

I guess I'm more interested in knowing why dealers take them off, which is what most dealers seem to do.

I don't screw with any factory firearm or the contents of the case except non-CA FSDs. It makes me cringe just to cut the seal to verify the SN.

I don't do a lot of Sigs. Anyone have any pictures of what we are talking about? Those paper things around the grip? I think in the past I have taken them off.

Now that I think of it, I recall being told they were primarily to identify new guns from refurbished guns at the factory. They use different color bands.
