LEO has PO box on drivers license, If I remember correctly they can use their LEO ID as alternate documentation even though there is no address on it. Is this correct?

I would ask for a copy of auto registration if it has the home address.

No.

The only exemption for LEOs is for the state. The state does not require you prove their residence so I usually don't have them provide a utility bill or a government issued document with expiration when they buy handguns.

The Federal government requires anyone whose address on their ID does not match the address on the 4473 to confirm their address with a government issued document. They do not make an exception for LE.

So even though the state says they don't have to provide the address (which makes me wonder what address you are supposed to put on the 4473 and the DROS, their department's?), the Feds state they do. The whole thing is pointless.

At my shop a LEO just doesn't have to prove handgun address, but the Federal requirements still apply.

Thanks guys. Most LEO's i have dealt with have either address on DL or registration. This one has nothing, everything goes to his PO box. Time to go a little more in depth for a gov issued doc.
