    Another AR pistol question...sorry

Im not going to lie, I am not the best at using the search feature on this forum which is forcing me to post another question on AR pistols... My apologies.

I just recieved a shipment of an AR pistol and the customer wants to come get it DROS'd today. I have never done an AR pistol transfer, so here are my questions...

This came in as a semi-auto upper (10.5") equipped with a threaded barrel. The lower has a bullet button and 10rd mag installed. Ive seen some conflicting information about this, so is this a legal setup? Can I DROS this pistol to the customer? Do I run this as a long gun or handgun DROS? Forgive my ignorance on this issue, answers are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

You might want to look at:

A threaded barrel on a semi-auto firearm is a problem. From what I have read, I wold say that it is not legal and therefore can not be DROS'd to the customer. If it is a handgun, it has to be DROS'd as a handgun, but then it has to be exempt or on the certified list, which does not appear to be the case with this firearm. It seems to me that you have several problems, which are quite serious.

The threaded barrel is fine as long as there is a bullet button. You can have all the assault weapon features you want as long as there is no detachable magazine. The 10 round mag should have been a single shot sled to as to make the pistol exempt from the safe handguns roster.

In re-reading the post, it does seem like a threaded barrel is fine, as long as it does not have a detachable magazine. Thanks.
