    So I'm getting divorced

I'm a transplant to the state and things have gone south. I have a pistol in DROS-jail but as I have no independent assets here I'm looking to get the hell outta dodge. If I were to leave without this firearm (paid in full already) who would legally own it?

Both of you, if it was purchased while you were married?

At least check with the FFL, you can probably get some of your money back even with a restock fee.

Actually, firearms are only registered in one name, like a vehicle registered in one name, but in the case of a divorce, it is still an asset which would be looked at and considered. If the firearm is not picked up, then ownership is not transferred even though you would have a money interest in it. What the FFL is willing to do varies, but as other have said, you should get some/most of your money back if you talk to the FFL. If you wait, you could lose everything you have invested in it due to storage charges, etc.
