Getting a Permit from LAPD as a Firearm Vendor

i heard they're very strict on this... does LAPD actually issue a permit to operate a gun store in their jurisdiction? any feed back on this? thanks...

well you need a conditional use permit and need to be zoned correctly before wasting your money on anything else

Sacramento is a little different from Los Angeles. We are deciding on whether or not to get one down here in LA at the moment...

You need a building that is zoned properly and not all commercial buildings are considered ok for firearms. You then need a conditional use permit which costs just under 10,000 for the application fee alone and takes 6 months to get approved, it is not guaranteed. Keep in mind during this period of time you absolutely need a suitable location, the CUP is only good for that location you are applying for, so there is 6 months of rent just for the CUP, then another 60 days for the FFL itself.

So no it is not impossible but they make it very difficult (costly)
