Permits needed to bring Class III weapons into Cali for LE demo??

Hey guys, after spending 3 days trying to get someone from Cali DOJ to explain it to me, I figured I'd try my luck here. They don't seem to know their own laws!

Anyway. For me (as a 07/03 mfg) to bring full auto weapons into Cali for LE demonstration at a range in Cali what type of permit (if any) would I need. The weapons would stay in my possession the entire time they are in the state.

you would need a CA Dangerous Weapons Permit,

how likely they are to issue such a permit for a demo from an out-of-state vendor, I dunno. It might depend on WHO you would be demoing for.

Bare minimum, regardless of what DOJ says...I'd have a request on department letterhead listing every gun specifically...might be prudent to have it by serial number... signed by the department chief.

Not being in CA I cannot tell you about there requirements but as an 07/02 I can tell you something about transfers between FFL's . To transfer any "post" sample you will need a "Demo." letter signed by the department and stating the type of gun before BATFE will approve the transfer .
