    ppt?

Just wondering if there is a set price for a ppt?
A buyer for my firearm is interested only if I ship it to his ffl friend that's 70 miles away with a copy of my DL info. He informs me that it would be cheaper because he would only pay dros, but he lives locally and I informed him that it wasn't too much for a ppt?
    Any thoughts?

PPTs are set by the state to be max $35 total, $25 for the state DROS fees and $10 max for the dealer fee.

but if you ship it, it isn't a PPT anymore and the dealer can charge whatever dealer fee he wants to, provided that he doesn't pass it off as part of the state mandated fees.

sounds like this guy would ahve to drive 280 miles to save $10 (assuming that his FFL friend is not gonna charge him any transfer fees), but, if he wants to visit his friend twice and needs an excuse to do it, then it might be worth it.

Is it a handgun? If so, it can be expensive to ship since UPS and FedEx require expensive shipping for handguns. Due to this, sometimes it is cheaper to ship through a FFL, if the price that the FFL charges is low enough.

Otherwise, it is easy to ship. You just need to confirm the FFL's status on the BATF ezcheck web page (FFLs need to do that as well to ensure that the FFL was not revoked or something else). No marking on the box that it is a firearm. You should request an adult signature, which is often the case if you get insurance.
