    Quick AR pistol question

I swear I have searched the entire site to no avail

Why does an AR pistol need a bullet button? My other pistols dont need them.

Short answer. Because the mag is outside of the grip.

....and they typically have a threaded barrel. Mag outside grip or threaded barrel on a pistol = AW. A BB nullifies the AW status.

learn something new every day I wasn't aware of the mag outside of the grip law. Man that flow chart is good.

          Thanks!

Most AR pistols have a detachable magazine and three evil pistol features. Magazine well outside of the pistol grip, threaded barrel, and barrel shroud. When it is no longer a detachable magazine pistol, then those evil features don't matter.
